Goldie Estate on Waiheke Island formed a delightful spring background for a Women’s conference. Oak trees sprouted over al fresco cuppas, and a vineyard decorated the nearby hillside with emerging canes.

Lunch beside the vines

In October, Pastor Roi Nu Maran of Waiheke Island Baptist Church welcomed 112 women from churches on the island and in Auckland for fellowship and encouragement in the beautiful island environment.

Christa McKirland from Carey Baptist College taught about God’s desire for people to flourish and how flourishing can be for women as royal priests in God’s family. Believing women may live well, like a temple carrying the image of God within it, showing the world what God’s kind of people are like.

Men from the church kindly transported the women from the ferry to the estate, marred only by a downpour as they boarded the cars again to return to the wharf. It was a much enjoyed day.
